positive outlook
so I'm watching a program aired in london on what makes a happy marriage.
one of the experiments I found intriguing was where they took a roomful of couples and took pictures of their faces. they then made six copies of the original photo and altered three photos to look slightly better, and then three photos to look slightly worse.
they found the couples who are experiencing a happier marriage tend to choose either the original photo or a photo making their partner look better. couples experencing dissatisfaction in their marraige were more likely to choose the altered photos making their partners look worse.
so interesting.
your perception of your partner is related to how you're feeling about your relationship.
they also discovered, that a person who deeply loves their partner, when shown a picture of them there's a "happiness" part of their brain stimulated AND the part of your brain that critiques is turned off.
amazing.
when you see your love you are filled with happiness and your brain can't criticize them.
Note: they also said this brain stimulation thing goes away in about three years! Ha ha!!

We're in our fourth year and I still get gooey eyes when I see pics of my hunky husband. WOOT WOOT!
Interesting study.
