Christmas Presents

I have begun my yearly ritual of having a mental (and physical) list of what to get those near and dear to me for Christmas.

I'm not one of those browse the stores until you find something kind of person. I know what I am getting each person before I go, and if I can't find it then I make the necessary changes. That's the beauty of the internet during the holiday season; if it's not in a store you can just order it online.

Picking out Christmas gifts is always a big deal to me. I love giving 'thoughtful' gifts, or at least gifts I think are thoughtful. I love when I find a gift that makes me think of someone or I find something they've been wanting. It's like I have this personal best that I try to outdo every year. I'm not trying to outdo anybody else, just myself and the gift from the year before. It has nothing to do with money, or size, or where it comes from. It has to do with the world giving me a good reason to spend money I wouldn't normally spend to show someone in a tangible way I care about them. Therefore, the gift of this year must be able to trump the gift from the year before because my fondness has grown over the past year for those people.

I can't wait for the Christmas music to start playing on the radio.

*giggle*
