Mudder
I remember when this photo was taken. Des and I were home for Christmas and we went to Mudder's for tea and a talk. Tea always tasted so good at Mudder's house. She always used to say that I made the best cup of tea - that was quite the compliment. She loved the colour yellow. She loved when you would visit. She has a rocking chair just inside her door, you can see part of it in the picture. That rocking chair was sacred. I remember it was in the corner of the kitchen by the window for years and when we would spend the night, we would wake up in the morning to Mudder whistling and the smell of bacon and eggs. I remember stumbling down the stairs and sitting in that rocking chair waiting for breakfast to be ready. When the rocking chair was moved across the kitchen just inside the door, it's where the guests would sit. Mudder would let us put sugar on our rice krispies. She was never too busy to take time for you. She had so many blueberry bushes in her backyard, you could sit and munch for hours. She never got mad when we would eat the berries she spent hours picking. She loved dolls. She loved when you took time to be with her. She hated her wheelchair and always told me to be thankful for two strong legs. She loved to eat McNuggets. She made a mean lemon meringue pie. She worked hard her whole life and her hands were always so soft. I used to mess up her hair and she would try and chase after me saying, "you young rascal!" She had a nickname for each of her grandchildren - I was the Pitchapoo. Don't ask. She could never remember Desmond's name, when she finally remembered it, he was known as Dezzy. She always had a story to tell. She enjoyed hearing stories that made her laugh. She made me the coziest quilt. She was one of my favourite people.

She's strikinglybeautiful.
I imagine you'll look like that in 60 years.
She is right about your tea. You do make the best cup.
When we all get to heaven you'll have to introduce us over a spot of your special blend.
Love you.

Hi Kristy,
It is so nice to reflect on our grandparents. They are so dear to us in many ways and your Mudder was very special to you and will always be! Keep the memories. Aren't they beautiful?
God Bless:)
