Love Letters
I was uncertain tonight when I stood in the computer room at the Club and asked the teens to write a love letter to God. I thought, "they're not gonna get this...they'll think it's weird."
When I explained what they had to do, they turned around and began to write letters to God that were prayers of praise, thankfulness, and joy. They told God about their families and the things they struggle with. They told God the reasons why they're a Christian and what it means to be a forever friend of Jesus.
For whatever reason, I have been tricked into thinking that teenagers don't like you, they are mean, they are selfish, and they certainly aren't interested in God. I am learning that teenagers are gracious. Teenagers like you. Teenagers are interested in you because you're interested in them. God made the 'teen years' and God has a sense of humor! God knows that inside every great teenager is a great follow of Him.
I am learning much from these things we call teenagers.
