vision

I have decided to actually verbalize more of the ideas I have. Too many times I don't tell anyone about the ideas I have because I'm afraid they won't work OR I'm thinking about the people who will hold me to those ideas and make sure they remind me how they won't work and we've done that before and you said you were going to do this well where is it blah blah blah...
Ugh. Just writing those comments made me disgusted.

Non-related comment: Des and I were at the mall tonight and saw three kids sitting on the wall from the Club. So we stopped to say hey and one of them points at Des and says "hey, you're the one who does the singing group." And the other kid points at me and says, "what do you do?" So I said, "I play basketball with Kevon (the other kid who was standing there.) So the kid says, "can you play basketball with me too?"
So I have a meeting on the court on Tuesday afternoon. I am a horrible basketball player but these kids are like 6 so hopefully they won't be too harsh!!
Good times!

I LOVE reading your blogs and seeing the encouraging, hands-on ministry you guys are doing. You are one of the few who get out there and make a difference instead of talking about it all the time. Never stop telling people about what you're doing cause it makes us want to be better.

    Hey Kristy,

    I heard Zig Ziggler say:

Always share your "give-up" goals with everyone. Those are the things that you need to stop doing like a bad temper, eating too much, smoking, et cetera.

Only share your "Go-up" goals with those you can definitely trust to encourage you and help you accomplish those goals. If you want to write a book, don't tell people who don't want you to appear smarter than they are or if you want to win a marathon, don't share that goal with last year's winner who is attempting to go for it again.

    I hope this helps.

    Grace and peace,
    Johnny

That's how I've been feeling and it's been my approach thus far. Then I come up against people who ask me where my ideas are and why I haven't been dreaming anything up. So I'm finding it to be a delicate balance which I obviously have not figured out yet. I'm definitely going to ponder the quotes you left.

I think the quick and simply way to head-off those who ask you what your dreams are may be to give them your "give-up" goals.

It's hard to find real encouragement from the majority of the world. As the great J.M. says, "About 80% of people are takers-the negative energy draining kind. The other 20% are those who want to help you become the great person God intended for you to be."

I think you have amazing gifts and talents. And with that out-of-this-world talented and caring husband or yours, you should be able to set powerful "go-up" goals and reach them.

    Have a good day.

    Johnny
